According to ESPN reporter Shams Charania, Grizzlies rookie Jalen Wells was discharged from the hospital today.

Charanie later added that the news was disclosed by Wells' agent, Armand Desch, who also said that Jalen Wells will be out indefinitely due to a fractured right wrist.

Jalen Wells was injured in the Memphis Grizzlies' 124-100 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday night. At the end of the first quarter, he was knocked down by K.J. Simpson while dunking and was unable to move for about 8 minutes. Eventually, Wells was carried off the court on a stretcher and taken to the hospital for treatment.

Before leaving the game due to injury, Wells started and played for 11 minutes, recording a total of 3 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal.

"When you see the scene after Jalen got hurt, everything else pales in comparison," interim Grizzlies coach Thomas Isalo told reporters after the game. "He's a very tough kid who has done a great job this season."

Wells, who is only 21 years old, mainly plays as a small forward. He was selected by the Grizzlies with the 39th pick in the second round in June 2024. So far, he has played 79 times for the Grizzlies, averaging 10.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 25.9 minutes per game, with a shooting percentage of 42.5% and a three-point shooting percentage of 35.3%, helping the team rank 6th in the Western Conference with a record of 47 wins and 32 losses.
