On July 7 , the NBA Salt Lake City Summer League officially kicked off, with the Thunder facing the Grizzlies. Although Thunder player A. Mitchell scored 24 points and sent out 6 assists, showing strong offensive ability, they still lost to their opponents 80-92 in the end, regrettably swallowing their first defeat.

At the beginning of the game, both teams were slow to enter the game and the scoring efficiency was not high. Wells of the Grizzlies was the first to find his touch and opened up the situation for the team with outside shots. The Thunder gradually stabilized their position through adjustments and chased the score to 18-19 at the end of the first quarter , only one point behind. In the end, the Grizzlies defeated the Thunder 92-80 and won the first game of the summer league.

For the Thunder, Mitchell scored a game-high 24 points and made 6 assists; Topich contributed 14 points, 4 assists and 2 steals; Gottman scored 10 points and 3 assists; Barnheiser contributed a double-double of 9 points and 13 rebounds; Lyons scored 8 points and Ducasse also scored 6 points.

For the Grizzlies, Wells had a brilliant performance, scoring 20 points , 4 rebounds , 3 assists and 2 steals; GG Jackson also scored 20 points and 3 rebounds; Spencer contributed 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists; Baco scored 9 points and 5 rebounds; Prinn contributed 8 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists; Palandez scored 7 points and 3 rebounds; Small had 6 assists; Hinton and Jeremy Jones each scored 3 points.
