At the opening game of the 2025 NBA season, the Oklahoma City Thunder held a grand championship ring presentation ceremony to celebrate their first championship since moving to the team in 2008.
The atmosphere was electrifying, as fans witnessed this young team's glorious moment. This championship ring, designed by a renowned brand, symbolizes the Thunder's glorious season. Crafted from 14K gold and set with over 800 hand-cut gemstones, it showcases exquisite craftsmanship and profound symbolic meaning.
The top of the ring is spelled out with diamonds and placed on the team's shield logo. The championship trophy pattern is outlined in gold and surrounded by 46 natural sapphires, symbolizing the team's indomitable blue spirit.
The ring features the NBA logo inlaid in diamonds at the top, and the word "Champions" spelled out in diamonds at the bottom. The gold background highlights the glory and pride of winning. The most innovative feature of the design is the ring-within-a-ring structure, allowing winners to remove the inner ring and wear it independently.
The inner ring, set with 94 diamonds above and below, is engraved with the player's signature and jersey number, surrounded by the numbers of all team members, symbolizing team unity and shared success. The palm side of the ring is specially engraved with the "Gate of Time" and "Reflecting Pool" motifs, paying homage to the Oklahoma City National Memorial and symbolizing the city's resilience and rebirth.
That night, league MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander took the stage to receive his ring amidst cheers of "MVP" and thunderous applause. As the championship banner was hoisted above the arena, the Thunder officially began their title defense. This ring not only symbolizes victory but also embodies the glory and faith of a city.
