The 2025 NBA Finals are in full swing, and Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton has jumped to the top of the Finals MVP rankings with his stable performance.
In the series between the Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder, Haliburton not only led the team's rhythm, but also served as the dual core of offense and organization. So far, Haliburton has averaged 17.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game.
Although Haliburton has not received a free throw in the series, he has already scored 53 points. He showed his overall dominance in Game 3, attacking decisively throughout the game, and helped the Indiana Pacers avoid another slow start.
Although Oklahoma City Thunder's star player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the scoring list with an average of 32 points per game, he performed poorly in the final quarter of Game 3, making only one shot and six turnovers, temporarily giving up the top spot and ranking second.
Indiana Pacers forward Pascal Siakam ranked third in the MVP rankings with his stable performance. He averaged 18.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game in the series, and was the team's leading scorer and rebounder.
Although Oklahoma City Thunder's second-in-command Jaylen Williams has not yet completely taken over the game, he is threatening on both offense and defense, and has made contributions to the team many times at critical moments. Williams averaged 20.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game, ranking fourth.
Another focus figure is Indiana Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard, who ranked fifth. Although he only averaged 11 points per game, he successfully limited SGA's shooting percentage to 35% on the defensive end, becoming an indispensable behind-the-scenes contributor to the team.
The Indiana Pacers currently lead the series 2-1, and are only two wins away from the championship and the first major award of Haliburton's career. If Haliburton continues to perform efficiently, he will not only be expected to win the Finals MVP, but will also officially join the ranks of top point guards.
