Wirtz from Germany officially joined the Premier League giants Liverpool and signed a long-term contract. The midfielder said that joining Liverpool is the best choice and hopes that his strength can be further improved here.

The 22-year-old Wirtz previously played for Leverkusen and contributed 10 goals and 12 assists to Leverkusen in the 2024/25 Bundesliga season, with outstanding performance. In terms of awards, Wirtz has won one Bundesliga title, one German Cup and one German Super Cup with Leverkusen.

In addition, Frimpong, a teammate of Wirtz who played with him in Leverkusen, also joined Liverpool earlier.

Wirtz said in an interview, "Now is the right time for me to take the next step in my career. Of course, I want to join the top three clubs in the world, and Liverpool is one of them for me.
