Tottenham Hotspur announced on its official website on Thursday that Brentford's Danish head coach Thomas Frank has been officially appointed as the club's new head coach.
According to Spurs' official statement, Frank has signed on a three-year contract with the club which runs until the summer of 2028.
Brentford's Justin Cochrane (first-team assistant coach), Chris Haslam (Head of Performance and first-team assistant coach) and Joe Newton (first-team coach analyst), as well as Andreas Georgson (first-team assistant coach) from Manchester United will also join Tottenham Hotspur as Frank's assistants.
About Thomas Frank
Frank, 51, was born on October 9, 1973 in Frederiksværk, Denmark. He is 1.83 meters tall and played as a midfielder during his playing career. He only played for Frederiksværk in his career.
After retiring in 1995, Frank began to coach in the youth academies of many local Danish clubs. From 2008 to 2013, he also served as the head coach of the Danish U16, U17 and U19 teams.
In June 2013, Frank was appointed as the head coach of Brondby, a traditional powerhouse in the Danish Superliga.
Although the club performed well in two years under his leadership, he resigned in June 2016 after he was cyberbullied online by the club President's hired trolls.
In December of the same year, Frank joined Brentford as an assistant coach and was later promoted to head coach in October 2018.
Over the years, Frank has been praised for his outstanding coaching abilities and has once attracted the attention of Liverpool and Manchester United.
During his seven-and-a-half-year spell as the Bees' head coach, Frank coached a total of 317 games in all competitions for the Premier League powerhouse, achieving 132 wins, 77 draws, and 108 losses, a win percentage of 41.64%, and won the EFL Championship promotion play-offs once with the club.
