English League One club Barnsley have signed winger Caylan Vickers on a season-long loan from Premier League side Brighton, with the transfer still subject to approval by the English Football League (EFL).

The 20-year-old Vickers played for Mansfield Town in the second half of the past season. He played 19 times, contributed 2 goals and 3 assists, and showed good offensive ability. His performance also attracted the attention of many English clubs, and was finally successfully introduced by Barnsley.

Vickers came from Reading's youth training and made his professional debut at the beginning of the 2023-24 season. He quickly established himself in Reading's first team. In early 2024, he moved to Brighton in the Premier League and continued to shine in the U21 team. After contributing 7 goals and 4 assists in his appearances, he embarked on a loan journey again to seek more first-team experience.

Barnsley manager Conor Hollihahn said: "Kelan is a player I have been following for a long time. He dares to break through, thinks clearly, and can create threats especially in the final third."
