Auxerre announced on its official website on Wednesday that Caen's young French defender Lamine Sy has joined the club as a free agent after leaving the club.
According to the Ligue 1 club's official statement, Sy has signed on a long-term four-year deal with the club which runs the summer of 2029. At the same time, he will also wear the No. 27 jersey.
About Lamine Sy
Lamine Sy, who is only 22 years old, was born in Les Mureaux, France on August 10, 2002. He is 1.71 meters tall and primarily plays as a right back. He can also play as a right midfielder. He has dual nationality of France and Senegal.
Sy played for the youth academy of his hometown club Les Mureaux when he was child. In 2014, he moved to the Caen youth academy. In 2021, he started playing for its reserve team and completed his Caen first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in February of the following year.
During his three-year spell at Caen, Sy played 23 times for the Ligue 2 club in all competitions without scoring any goals or providing any assists.
