Liverpool announced on their official website on Tuesday that they have officially signed England U17s international center forward Will Wright from Salford City.
According to the Premier League champions' official statement, Wright has signed on a three-year contract which runs until the summer of 2028. He will immediately join the U21s team.
The player also made his unofficial Liverpool first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in a recent pre-season friendly against Athletic Bilbao.
According to The Athletic's renowned English Liverpool team correspondent James Pearce , the Reds paid Salford City a £2 million transfer fee to hijack Arsenal's deal and sign Wright.
About Will Wright
Wright, 17, was born in England and plays as a center forward. His date of birth, height, and place of residence cannot be disclosed due to the UK government's Juveniles Protection law.
Wright joined Salford City's youth academy at a young age and was promoted to the first-team in the summer of 2024. He completed his Salford City first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in a EFL Trophy match in November of that year.
In January of this year, Wright officially became a key player for the club when he came on as a substitute in Salford City's FA Cup match against Manchester City.
Since his debut, Wright has played 4 times for the EFL League Two club in all competitions, without scoring or assisting, but he has a good goal-scoring efficiency at the U21s level.
