According to multiple media outlets including The Daily Telegraph and The Daily Mail, Tottenham manager Angel Postecoglou is not expected to stay this summer.
Tottenham Hotspur has had a poor season, ranking 16th in the Premier League with 11 wins, 4 draws and 18 losses after 33 games, and 37 points. They also performed poorly in cup competitions, first being defeated 1-4 by Liverpool in the semi-finals of the English League Cup on February 6, and then losing 1-2 to Aston Villa in the fourth round of the FA Cup three days later.
Now, Tottenham only has the Europa League to compete for. On May 1, local time, they will host the Norwegian powerhouse Bodø Brøndby at home. If they are lucky enough to advance, Tottenham will face the winner between Manchester United and Athletic Bilbao in the final on May 21.
However, Postecoglu's stay or departure does not seem to be related to the result of the Europa League. The Daily Mail has learned that Tottenham is considering the next head coach and is focusing on Bournemouth coach Andoni Iraola, Fulham coach Marco Silva, Burnley coach Scott Parker, United States coach Mauricio Pochettino, Brentford coach Thomas Frank and others.
Ange Postecoglou, 59, is from Australia and has coached South Melbourne, Panaja, Morand Zebras, Brisbane Roar, Melbourne Victory, Australia, Yokohama F. Marinos, Celtic and many other teams. He has been the head coach of Tottenham since July 2023 and has led the team to a record of 44 wins, 13 draws and 36 losses so far.
