Chelsea's season has entered a crucial stage, and Enzo Maresca knows that if the team can win the next three games, it will not only have a chance to lift the championship trophy, but also qualify for next season's Champions League. After losing to Newcastle United on Sunday, Chelsea is ranked 5th with only two games left in the league.  

Despite suffering their first league defeat in nearly two months at St. James' Park and playing with ten men for a long time, Enzo Maresca still recognized the team's fighting spirit and hoped that the players could carry on this fighting spirit into the next two crucial games.  

Head coach Enzo Maresca said at a press conference that the team showed great courage in the second half against Newcastle United. He said: "We played with three defenders, three midfielders and three forwards in the second half, so I think we showed courage."  

“The team has been very brave, but sometimes we are limited by the opponent's defense and this courage may not always be shown. Overall, I think the team has maintained a brave attitude from beginning to end. The fighting spirit, unity among the players and unremitting efforts we showed in the second half were all excellent, and this is what we must have in the next two games.”  

Enzo Maresca is well aware of the importance of the remaining schedule and firmly believes that the team has the quality to enter the top European competitions next season and has a chance to compete for the English Football Association League title. In his view, being able to cope with the high expectations of the outside world means that this season has been a success.  

He said: "From the first day I took office, I enjoyed the pressure on my shoulders. Because I know that the road of coaching is destined to be full of ups and downs, with both moments of joy, challenges and losses, but this is my job."  

“The pressure the team is facing now belongs not only to the players and coaching staff, but also to the entire club. Since the beginning of the season, everyone has shouldered the responsibility of bringing Chelsea to its due height, that is, the top four or top five in the Premier League and the Champions League. The players, coaching staff, and the club are all very clear about this goal, and we hope to end this season in that position.”  

“At the beginning of the season, if someone told us that we only needed to win the last two games to enter the Champions League, we would be very happy. This season the team has achieved some good results, especially in the first five or six months, Chelsea won the second and third place in the league respectively. These results mean that we have been making steady progress. Next, we will continue to work hard and strive to achieve better results.”
