Borussia Dortmund announced on its official website on Tuesday that the club has signed England U21s international attacking midfielder wonderkid Jobe Bellingham from Sunderland.

According to Dortmund's official statement, Bellingham has signed on a long-term five-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2030. At the same time, he will also wear the No. 77 jersey. In order to distinguish himself from his brother, Bellingham chose to call himself Jobe on his jersey.

In addition, according to the news brought by BILD's resident renowned German transfer journalist Christian Falk, the Bundesliga giants paid a total of £27.8 million to Sunderland, making him the second most expensive player in Dortmund's club history, as well as breaking the record of former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson and becoming the most expensive player to leave the Black Cats in their club's history.

Falk also added that Eintracht Frankfurt was also interested in signing Bellingham before, but the two clubs could not reach an agreement on his transfer fees, which ultimately led to BVB being successful in this transfer battle.

It is worth mentioning that this transfer also confirmed that the rumour which "Ms. Titan" has been lying and falsely claiming in early July last year that Bellingham would "hope to join Crystal Palace or Brentford" this summer was indeed another fake news that she made up from nowhere!

Jobe was also confirmed to become the second player in the Bellingham family to play for Dortmund after his elder brother Jude.

After completing his joining procedures, Bellingham, who was interviewed by Dortmund's official website for the first time, said: "I am very happy to be a Borussia Dortmund player now and compete for titles with this great club. I hope to celebrate the victory here with these great fans and do my part. I will work hard to improve myself every day and make progress with the team. I am very happy to wear this black and yellow jersey and fight for the team on the pitch at the Club World Cup."

Bellingham, 19, was born in Stourbridge, England on September 23, 2005. He is 1.86 meters tall and primarily plays as an attacking midfielder, but he can also play as a winger, defensive midfielder or center forward. His father Mark was also a professional footballer. His elder brother is the England international attacking midfielder Jude Bellingham, who joined Real Madrid from Dortmund for €103 million in the summer of 2023.

Like his brother, Bellingham joined Birmingham City's youth academy at a young age. In addition to making his first-team debut in the FA Cup third round match against Plymouth at the end of January 2022, he also equalled with his brother for the record of the youngest player in Birmingham City's history.

In the past, Bellingham, like his brother, was fiercely pursued by Liverpool, but these rumours were shattered when he moved to Sunderland for £3 million in July 2023.
