Borussia Dortmund defeated Wolfsburg 1-0 on matchday 4 of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season at Signal Iduna Park on Sunday.

In the first half, Adeyemi scored a stunning wonder goal. In the second half, Koulierakis' close-range shot hit the crossbar. Ultimately, Dortmund defeated Wolfsburg 1-0. Following this round of matches, BVB, enjoying their sixth consecutive home win, are currently in second place with 10 points; Die Wolfe, whose unbeaten streak was ended, are currently in 12th place with 5 points.

First Half

In the third minute, Marcel Sabitzer's passes horizontally from the right wing. Karim Adeyemi quickly followed up, got the ball and adjusted his angle before taking a left-footed long shot from the edge of the penalty area, but his shot went just wide of the bottom left corner of the post.

17 minutes later, Julian Ryerson passed back from the right wing. Adeyemi stopped the ball and took a few steps before launching a left-footed long shot from the edge of the penalty area. The ball flew straight into the bottom right corner of the net, leaving Kamil Grabara unable to reach it. Borussia Dortmund broke the deadlock early and took a 1-0 lead!

In the 34th minute, Ryerson crossed the ball into the box from the right wing. Maximilian Beier rose high and attempted with a header in the box, however his effort went wide of the left side of the post.

In the 43rd minute, Dortmund launched a quick counterattack. Ryerson made a long pass from his own back half after intercepting the ball. After beating the offside trap, Beier quickly followed up, got the ball and dribbled into the left side of the box before volleying with his right footed, but his shot was saved by Grabara.

At the end of the first half, Borussia Dortmund led Wolfsburg by 1-0 at the half time break.

Second Half

Both teams switched sides as the match continued. In the 47th minute, Ryerson crossed into the box from the byline at the left wing. Beier rose high and attempted with a header in the box, however his effort was saved by Grabara.

11 minutes later, Wolfsburg was awarded a free kick. Maximilian Arnold took the kick by crossing it into the box. Mohamed Amoura headed the ball to Konstantinos Koulierakis, who quickly followed up and took with a left-footed half-volley from a very close distance in the box upon receiving the pass. Unfortunately, his shot hit the crossbar and bounced out. Wolfsburg missed a golden opportunity to equalize Dortmund!

In the 67th minute, Mattias Svanberg passed back from the right wing. Christian Eriksen quickly followed up, stopped the ball and adjusted his angle before firing a left-footed long shot from outside the penalty area, but his shot was saved by Gregor Kobel.

8 minutes later, Dortmund was awarded a corner kick. Ryerson crossed the ball into the box, where Felix Nmecha rose high and attempted with a header in the box, however his effort was saved by Grabara, who had to make a great save by the crossbar.

In the 87th minute, Julian Brandt made a straight pass from the right wing. Serhou Guirassy quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, took a right-footed shot from the right side of the box, but his shot was blocked by Moritz Jenz and deflected over the crossbar.

When the final whistle is blown, Borussia Dortmund defeated Wolfsburg 1-0.
