Real Madrid defeated newly promoted Real Oviedo with a 0-3 away win at Carlos Tatiere on Sunday on matchday 2 of the 2025/26 La Liga season.

In the first half, Mbappé scored with a volley. In the second half, Sibo's long-range shot hit the post. In crucial moments, Mbappé and Vinicius Junior scored in quick succession, which ultimately helps Real Madrid secure a 0-3 away victory over Real Oviedo. Following this round of matches, Los Blancos temporarily moved up to third place on the table with six points, meanwhile Los Azules are currently ranked second from the bottom of the table with 0 points.

First Half

In the 3rd minute, Arda Güler passes horizontally from midfield. Rodrygo quickly followed up, got the ball, dribbled and cuts into the left side of the box before volleying with his right foot, but his shot was blocked by Nacho Vidal and then saved by Aarón Escandell.

In the 22nd minute, Güler passes horizontally from the left wing. Federico Valverde stopped the ball and then fired a right-footed long shot from outside the penalty area, but his shot was saved by Escandell.

In the 36th minute, Güler passes horizontally from the front. Rodrygo quickly followed up, got the ball and took a few steps before volleying with his left foot from a difficult angle on the left side of the box, but his shot was saved by Escandell.

Second Half

Both teams switched sides as the match continued. In the 66th minute, Brahim Díaz made a straight pass the ball from the left wing. Valverde quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, strucked the ball with his left foot from the center of the box, but his shot was saved by Escandell.

In the 82nd minute, Dendoncker passes horizontally from the left side of the wing. Kwasi Sibo quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, made a left-footed long shot from the edge of the penalty area. Unfortunately, his shot hit the bottom left corner of the post and bounced off. Real Oviedo missed a golden opportunity to equalize Real Madrid!

Shortly afterwards, Vinícius Júnior passes horizontally from the front. Mbappé quickly followed up and upon receiving the pass, volleyed the ball into the lower center of the net from the left side of the box with his right foot to score his second goal in the match. Real Madrid extended its lead to 0-2!

In the 85th minute, Vinícius Júnior's horizontal pass from the left side of the box was blocked by Dani Calvo. Mbappé quickly followed up and upon picking up the loose ball, took a right-footed long shot from the edge of the penalty area, but his shot was saved by Escandell.

4 minutes later, Ovie Ejaria passes horizontally from the left wing. Haissem Hassan stopped the ball before volleying the ball with his left foot from the center of the box, his shot was initially saved and cleared by Thibaut Courtois not far away. After picking up loose ball, Federico Viñas fired a bicycle kick from the center of the box with his left foot, but his shot went wide of the left side of the post.

In the third minute of injury time, Real Madrid launched a deadly counterattack. Díaz passes horizontally from the right wing. Vinícius quickly followed up, got the ball and took a few steps before volleying the ball into the bottom right corner of the net his right foot from the center of the box. Real Madrid secured the victory at 0-3!
