Manchester United embarrassingly lost 1-0 to the ASEAN All-Stars in a post-season friendly at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Wednesday.

In the first half, Mainoo's close-range shot was blocked off the goal line and Kamason's long-range shot flew high out of the pitch. In the second half, Fernandes' long-range shot flew high out of the pitch, Diallo's free kick was saved, and Maung Maung Lwin successfully scored with a volley. At the critical moment, Segecic was blocked by young player Jim Thwaites when he was about to shoot in the box. In the end, the ASEAN All-Stars defeated Manchester United with a shock 1-0 win.

First Half

In the 26th minute, Sandro Reyes made a straight pass from the left wing. Abdel Kader Koulibaly quickly followed up, got the ball and took a few steps before volleying with his right foot from the edge of the penalty area, his shot was initially blocked off not far away by Harry Maguire. After quickly following up and picking up the loose ball, Reyes dribbled into the left side of the box before volleying with his left foot, but his shot was saved by André Onana.

In the 35th minute, Jaydan Kamason made a straight pass from the midfield center circle, Kobbie Mainoo quickly followed up upon receiving the pass, took a long shot with his right foot from outside the penalty area, but his shot was saved by Patiwat Khammai.

Three minutes later, Manchester United got a free kick opportunity. Shea Lacey took the free kick by crossing it into the box from outside the penalty area. Kamason headed the ball across and upon receiving the pass, Mainoo volleyed with his right foot at a very close distance in the the box while being unmarked, but his shot was blocked off the goal line by Harrison Delbridge. The Red Devils missed the golden opportunity to break the deadlock first!

In the 41st minute, Manchester United made a quick counterattack. Jaydan Kamason intercepted the ball and took a few steps before taking a long shot with his right foot from outside the penalty area, but his shot flew high out of the pitch.

At the end of the first half, the ASEAN All-Stars and Manchester United temporarily drew 0-0 and entered the half time break.

Second Half

Both teams switched sides as the match continued. In the 59th minute, Manchester United got a corner kick opportunity. Amad Diallo took the corner by crossing it into the box. The ball was headed and cleared off not far away by Delbridge. After quickly following up and picking up the loose ball, Bruno Fernandes took a long shot with his right foot from outside the penalty area, but his shot flew high out of the pitch.

6 minutes later, Fernandes passes horizontally from the right wing. Chido Obi quickly followed up, got the ball and took a few steps, before volleying with his right foot from the right side of the box, but his shot was blocked by Irfan Fandi and then saved by Khammai.

In the 71st minute, Adrian Segecic made a low diagonal through pass from the front. After successfully beating the offside trap, Maung Maung Lwin quickly followed up, got the ball and dribbled into the right side of the box, volleyed the ball with his right foot against the outrushing Tom Heaton. His shot flew straight into the upper left corner of the empty net. The ASEAN All-Stars broke the deadlock first to take a 1-0 lead! This is the fourth goal scored by the captain of the Myanmar national team in all competitions in 2025!

Three minutes later, Manchester United got a free kick opportunity. Amad Diallo took the free kick from outside the penalty area and shot directly with his left foot, however his attempt was saved by Khammai.

In the fifth minute of injury time, the ASEAN All-Stars made a quick counterattack. Adrian Segecic dribbled past Fernandes and then dribbled into the center of  the box against the outrushing Tom Heaton. When he was about to shoot with his left foot, Manchester United teenager Jim Thwaites who was chasing back immediately blocked the ball out of the byline. The Red Devils almost conceded again!

When the final whistle is blown, the ASEAN All-Stars defeated Manchester United with a shock 1-0 win.

This game will definitely be the Premier League giant's most humiliating defeat of the season. It is no wonder that the Malaysian Red Devils fans booed the players as soon as the whistle blew at the end of the game.
