Juventus will face La Liga giants Real Madrid in the last 16 of the Club World Cup for a place in the quarter-finals, and coach Igor Tudor says he is ready.
At the pre-match press conference held at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Tudor admitted that the challenge was daunting, but stressed that the team was ready and only "faith and courage" could open the door to victory.
Tudor said: "This will undoubtedly be a difficult game. We are facing a world-class team that has demonstrated its excellence in major tournaments over the past decade. Real Madrid has always been strong in this kind of knockout match, and their last game also impressed me. I saw technology, teamwork and sacrifice. It is a truly top team."
"We are ready, we want to advance and we will play our cards right. This kind of high-intensity, high-profile game is exactly the stage where players should participate and give their all. Every team wants to beat Real Madrid, and so do we. We must face it with conviction and courage."
Regarding the defeat in the previous group stage, Tudor remained calm: "Losing is part of the game and part of life. We accept failure, but we will not stop because of it. Now we have the first game of the knockout stage and we must put all our energy into it."
"Facing an opponent of this level, we must believe in ourselves, run, fight, sacrifice, make no mistakes, and try not to give the opponent any chances. I believe we have the ability to do it. After the game starts, we will try our best and see what the result is."
Juventus will strive for a breakthrough in this tough battle. Tudor's firm belief and the team's fighting spirit will become an important weapon in challenging Real Madrid.
