Bayer Leverkusen's Germany international defender Jonathan Tah announced in an interview with BILD on Monday that he would be leaving the club after his contract expires at the end of the season.
According to the report, Tah had already made it clear to Leverkusen that he refused to renew his contract with the club, and this decision has not changed so far, and has even become more firm.
Tah said: "It is true that the 1-1 draw with St. Pauli on Sunday was one of my last games at Bayer Leverkusen. To be honest, I didn't spend too much time deciding my future."
"I have made it clear to the club that I am in that position. Everything has been communicated publicly. I have made it clear from the beginning that I have no intention of staying at the club, and the club already knows this. I decided not to renew my contract at one point, and I have always insisted on this idea and have not made any changes. I am still determined to do so now."
Over the recent years, Tah has always been one of Bayern Munich's priority transfer targets, but the two sides have never reached any agreement on joining.
Recently, in order to solve the problem of their aging center backs and constant injuries to players, Real Madrid has also been listed as one of Tah's potential new clubs by local Spanish media outlets.
In addition, since he has always been one of the players admired by head coach Hans Dieter Flick, Tah was also claimed as one of Barcelona's potential transfer targets this summer by Barcelona's mouthpiece Diario Sport.
However, all rumours about the player and Premier League giants Manchester United have been refuted as "fake news" by Sky Sports Germany's resident renowned transfer journalist Florian Plettenberg.
