Manchester City Women’s Football Club has officially announced that Swedish coach Andrée Jeglertz will serve as the new head coach.
The 53-year-old has more than 20 years of coaching experience. He led Umeå women's football team to win the 2004 European Women's Champions League and led the Finnish and Danish national teams to many international competitions. He is currently still the head coach of the Danish women's football team and is expected to arrive in Manchester to officially take office after the 2025 European Cup.
In an interview, Jaglatz said: "I feel very honored to join such a great club and I am looking forward to starting a new journey."
"Manchester City is not only one of the top clubs in the world, but more importantly, the management's clear expression of football philosophy, team culture and coaching responsibilities gives me confidence and motivation."
In the new season, Jeglatz's task is to lead Manchester City Women's Football Team to break through from the fourth place in the Premier League last season and return to the championship. He also made it clear: "I will not try to change everything, but I hope to advance on the original basis and take the existing results to a higher level."
“I am eager to work with players who share the same passion and goals, whether they are young players or experienced veterans. Women’s football players generally have a strong sense of ambition, which is exactly the challenge I like.”
Manchester City Women's Football Team hopes to return to the top in the 2025-26 season under the leadership of the new coach. The club will also announce more plans and lineup dynamics for the new season in the coming weeks.
