Frankfurt issued a statement on Thursday, announcing that it has completed the contract extension with local right back Timothy Chandler. The new contract will extend the original agreement by one year and will be valid until June 30, 2026.
Timothy Chandler, 35, joined Frankfurt's youth training at a young age and chose to play for Nuremberg at the beginning of his career. He returned to Frankfurt for 1 million euros in 2014 and has played 198 times so far, scoring 10 goals and providing 17 assists, winning the Europa League and the German Cup with the team.
After completing the contract extension, Chandler said: "Everyone knows what Frankfurt means to me. I love coming here every day and giving my all for the club. I am very happy to be able to renew my contract and continue to play for Frankfurt next season."
Frankfurt sports director Markus Kroescher added: "Timmy Chandler holds an important position at Frankfurt. He has not achieved this position out of thin air, but has earned it over many years. He remains an indispensable member of our team, both on and off the pitch. Especially for the young players, he is a reliable and helpful role model. Therefore, we are very happy that Timmy will continue to play for us next season."
