According to a report by ESPN's Shams Charania on Monday, the Philadelphia 76ers plan to make Jabari Walker's two-way contract permanent in the coming days and re-sign 31-year-old veteran point guard Cameron Payne from European competition.

With the maximum number of appearances allowed under a two-way contract already reached, Walker's conversion to a standard contract is almost a certainty. He is expected to receive a two-year, $3.35 million standard contract, with $1 million guaranteed.

Walker, 23, is a 2.03-meter tall, 107-kilogram forward who was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers in the second round of the 2022 NBA draft with the 57th overall pick. He then spent the next three years frequently playing for the Blazers and their G League affiliate, accumulating 188 regular season games, averaging 6.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in 16.3 minutes per game.

Since joining the team in July 2025, Walker has consistently played a vital role in the 76ers' rotation. To date, he has played 45 regular-season games for the 76ers, averaging 3.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 0.5 assists in 12.1 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 40.3% and a three-point percentage of 27.0%.

Cameron Payne

In addition to making Walker a permanent member of the roster, the 76ers have also finalized the return of Cameron Payne. Payne played for Partizan Belgrade this season, appearing in only 10 games so far, averaging 12.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.

Multiple sources have confirmed that the 76ers will sign Payne for the remainder of the season. They also paid Partizan Belgrade $1.75 million in compensation.

Before moving overseas, Payne had played ten seasons in the NBA, playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers, and New York Knicks. To date, he has played 477 regular season games, averaging 7.8 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in 17.5 minutes per game, with a 41.9% field goal percentage and a 36.8% three-point percentage.
