"Blue Moon" Manchester City will challenge Al-Hilal in the round of 16 of the 2025 Club World Cup. When Guardiola was interviewed, he specifically mentioned Savio and believed that the striker would become an extraordinary player.
Savio, 21, joined Manchester City in July last year and contributed one goal and eight assists to Manchester City in the 2024/25 Premier League, and one goal and one assist in the Champions League.
In addition, Manchester City contributed a goal and an assist in the earlier Club World Cup group match against Juventus 5-2, helping the "Blue Moon" advance to the round of 16 as the group leader.
Manchester City manager Guardiola said: "Savio had a great season at Girona. He was the best player for Girona and helped them qualify for the Champions League."
"He performed well last season, but later he played less because of my arrangement, but he is a player with great potential. Don't forget that he is still young and he needs to make more key contributions in the final third. Once he takes this step and really makes up his mind to become that key figure, he will become an extraordinary player."
Guardiola also said, "The most important thing is to recover and find our true selves. This Club World Cup is very important to us. We find our former selves through games and training. That is our way of playing. Once the players feel this state again, this is the right track for us to continue to remain competitive, just like we have been strong in the past 9 years."
Talking about the challenges that will be faced in the Club World Cup, Guardiola said, "The right time has come. We played well in the group stage. The first two games were ordinary, but we played much better in the last game. But now there is no second chance. If we can't keep moving forward, then we will only have the way home."
