Nottingham Forest officially announce the signing of Manchester City's attacking midfielder James McAtee..

Nottingham Forest announced on its official website on Saturday that the club has signed Manchester City's England U21s international attacking midfielder wonderkid James McAtee.

According to Nottingham Forest's official statement, McAtee has signed on a long-term five-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2030.

According to Sky Sportsrenowned Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Forest paid Manchester City a £30 million transfer fee to sign McAtee. The Cityzens also has a buy-back clause for McAtee.

He also revealed that Nottingham Forest had been in talks with Manchester City regarding McAtee's transfer since July, but the transfer was delayed until now because the Cityzens was participating in the Club World Cup in the United States at the time and the player was on holiday.

After completing his signing procedures, McAtee, who was interviewed by the Nottingham Forest official website for the first time, said, "I'm ready for a new challenge. The club had a fantastic season last season, so I want to build on that and show what I can do."

About James McAtee

McAtee, who is only 22, was born on October 18, 2002, in Salford, England. Standing 1.80 meters tall, he primarily plays as an attacking midfielder, but can also play right winger. His late uncle, Alan Ball, was a member of the England national team that won the 1966 FIFA World Cup.

McAtee's love of football was influenced by his uncle at a young age. He joined Manchester City's youth academy at the age of 11 and completed his Manchester City first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in a Carabao Cup match in September 2021.

The following July, McAtee was loaned-out to Sheffield United for two years. During this spell, he helped the club reach the FA Cup semi-finals.

Upon his return from his loan spell in the summer of 2023, McAtee officially became a member of Manchester City's first team.

During his four-year spell with the Cityzens, McAtee made 34 appearances in all competitions for the Premier League giants, scoring seven goals and winning the Community Shield once and the UEFA Super Cup once with the club.
