The Athletic reported on Monday that a prominent agent was arrested by London Metropolitan Police in September for threatening a Premier League player with a gun.

According to the report, the incident occurred on Saturday, September 6th, and police immediately arrested the suspect for investigation.

During subsequent questioning, police also discovered that the 31-year-old agent had extorted money from another man and that he had even been threatened by the same person.

It is understood that the football club the victim plays for was aware of the incident.

London Metropolitan Police stated in an official statement: "At 11:14 pm on Saturday, September 6, police received a report that a man in his 20s had been threatened with a gun."

"After speaking with the victim, officers discovered during the investigation that another man in his 20s had also allegedly been extorted and threatened by the same person. No one was injured in either incident."

"On Monday, September 8, a 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of illegal possession of a firearm, extortion, and driving without a license. He has been released on bail, and the case is still under investigation."

Because the case is now in the judicial process, the media cannot disclose the exact identity of the victimized player, nor can they reveal the identity of the prominent agent involved.

However, according to reports from British tabloids such as The Sun, The Mirror, and the infamously notorious Daily Mail, the victimized Premier League player is also in his 20s, and his market value, according to the German online media outlet Transfermarkt, is estimated at at least £60 million.
