Arsenal draw with Manchester City Arteta believes the team is in control at all levels

In a pivotal match of the fifth round of the 2025/26 Premier League season, Arsenal, having fallen behind by a goal, drew 1-1 with Manchester City thanks to a goal from Martinelli. Arteta said his team displayed strong control across the board in the match, but expressed regret for not securing all three points.

In the 9th minute, Reinders received the ball and made a diagonal pass into the penalty area. Haaland then shot past Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya, helping Manchester City take the lead 1-0.

In the final stage of the second half, Eze made a lob pass from the center circle, Martinelli received the ball and shot it, and then the ball bounced into the net, helping Arsenal to equalize the score at 1-1.

In the end, Arsenal drew 1-1 with Manchester City coached by Guardiola at home.

Looking back on the performance of this game, Arsenal coach Arteta said, "I am very proud of the players and the team. I think the way we played and the control we showed in almost all aspects of the game, apart from the score, our performance was outstanding. As a coach, I know how difficult it is to do this against Manchester City, but we are still disappointed with the result."

"Martinelli was incredible. He had a fantastic performance against Athletic Bilbao. He didn't start but showed the same energy, commitment and fighting spirit and created another wonderful moment."

Arteta also said, "The same goes for Eze. I believe he will be disappointed because he did not start, but I also know that this is a long game and we have to change the game in different ways at different stages, and he played a huge role after he came on the court."

"We also have Madouko injured, but Saka is ready and he had some excellent moments in the game. "Without Jesus, Havertz and Odegaard still injured, we need all the players to step up."
