Arsenal's 10-game winning streak came to an end, with Arteta admitting his disappointment.

In the 11th round of the 2025-26 Premier League season, Arsenal drew 2-2 with Sunderland, ending their 10-game winning streak and 8-game clean sheet record.

In the match, Sunderland center-back Daniel Ballard opened the scoring, but Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard then scored two goals to take the lead. However, Bryan Broby scored in stoppage time to save the day, and the two sides ultimately each took one point.

In a post-match interview, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta frankly expressed his disappointment: "We wanted three points, and this game felt frustrating and disappointing. We had to deal with a very tough game, which we expected."

“We could have defended better, but we conceded goals. The goals we conceded were not up to our standard. We need to defend against six or seven players rushing into the penalty area, but we failed to do that today.”

Even so, Arteta affirmed the team's resilience and ability to adjust under pressure: "After conceding the goal, we showed courage and character. In fact, we controlled the game and had an excellent chance to win in the final moments, but we failed to capitalize on it."

"The fact that the team still managed to achieve a 10-game winning streak and 8 clean sheets despite missing 7 players in the forward line is enough to prove how difficult the process was."

Speaking about Sunderland's performance, Arteta expressed respect: "That's the Premier League; no away game is easy. Their current position is no accident; we got here through our own hard work."

While failing to secure all three points in this match was disappointing, Arsenal continued to demonstrate competitiveness and resilience, and will maintain their strong momentum in the title race. Arsenal's next Premier League match will be a home game against Tottenham on November 24th.
