In the 11th minute, Ben White chipped a pass from the right wing into the box, where Merino leaped up and headed the ball into the net, giving Arsenal a 1-0 lead.

In the second half stoppage time, Merino played a through ball from the center circle, and Saka received it and entered the penalty area to fire a shot. The ball was deflected by Kelleher, but the referee indicated that the ball had crossed the goal line, so Arsenal extended their lead to 2-0.

Arsenal ultimately defeated Brentford 2-0 at home. With these three points, Arsenal remain top of the table with 33 points, five points ahead of second-placed Manchester City.

"The reason Ben White didn't get more playing time is because Timber has been playing exceptionally well, and Ben White was also injured before that, but his attitude was excellent every day. Arteta said, "We lost Gabriel and Saliba, two long-time key central defenders. We also had Mosquera and Incapie, who were performing very well, and then we lost Mosquera, so we have to adapt again. But I think the reason we have been able to keep winning is because the players are very eager to win."

"The past week has been extremely taxing on us emotionally, physically, and on every level. We have another game in a few days, and we have one less day of rest than Brentford, but I think we still controlled the game."
