Bayern Munich announced on its official website on Thursday that Bayer Leverkusen's Germany international center back Jonathan Tah has officially joined the club as a free agent after his contract had expired.

According to Bayern's official statement, Tah has signed on a long-term four-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2029. He will wear the No. 4 jersey which was vacated by Matthijs de Ligt after his transfer to Manchester United. He will also join the club immediately and participate in the FIFA Club World Cup.

After completing his joining procedures, Tah, who was interviewed by Bayern Munich's official website for the first time, said: "I am very happy to join Bayern. I want to take responsibility here, work hard every day, let us succeed as a team and win more trophies together."
