Brandon Ingraham was fined $25,000 by the league for smashing a water bottle.

Brandon Ingraham's emotional outburst ultimately cost him dearly. The NBA announced on Monday that the Toronto Raptors forward was fined $25,000 for forcefully throwing a water bottle onto the court during a game.

The incident occurred during the third quarter of the Raptors' 120-130 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. With the team struggling, Ingraham, sitting on the bench, lost his temper and violently threw a plastic water bottle to the ground.

The water bottle bounced violently after hitting the ground, striking a staff member in the face and splashing liquid onto the court and near the players' bench. Staff quickly cleaned up the spill, but the game was forced to pause briefly.

It's worth noting that Ingraham made no verbal or physical reaction after the incident, only silently watching the court being cleared, while his teammate Scottie Barnes, who was hit by the splash, immediately got up and moved away. The footage sparked widespread discussion on social media. Although the incident was minor, it involved stadium safety and game delays, and according to league rules, it will certainly face disciplinary action.

Since joining the Los Angeles Lakers as the second overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft, Ingraham has been considered one of the league's most promising forwards. After six years with the New Orleans Pelicans, he joined the Toronto Raptors this February, signing a three-year, $120 million contract and becoming one of the core players in the team's rebuilding process.

So far this season, Ingram has played 10 games, averaging 21 points and 6.3 rebounds with a 51% field goal percentage, demonstrating consistent scoring performance. In the game against the 76ers, Ingram also scored 21 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Raptors from suffering a defeat, ending the team's four-game winning streak.

The Raptors are currently in the middle of the Eastern Conference with a 5-5 record. Last season they had a 30-52 record and missed the playoffs for the third consecutive year. The team is working hard to get back into the competition.
