Despite Mohamed Salah's public expression of dissatisfaction, Liverpool manager Arne Sloot still received the full support of the board.

The news was first reported by talkSPORT on Sunday. It remains to be seen whether Salah will be able to travel with the team for Tuesday's Champions League group stage match against Inter Milan and next weekend's Premier League home game against Brighton.

As originally planned, Salah will immediately report to the Egyptian national team after the match against Brighton to prepare for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 33-year-old Salah previously played for Arab contractors, Basel, Chelsea, Fiorentina, and Roma before transferring to Liverpool in June 2017 for £43 million. To date, he has made 420 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 250 goals and providing 116 assists, winning one Champions League title, one Club World Cup title, two Premier League titles, one UEFA Super Cup title, one FA Cup title, three League Cup titles, and one Community Shield title with the team.

Salah is extremely uncertain about his future after being left out of the starting lineup for three consecutive matches by Sloot. After the game against Leeds United, he publicly expressed his dissatisfaction to reporters: "I simply can't believe I sat on the bench for 90 minutes! Sitting on the bench for three consecutive games is unprecedented in my career. To be honest, I am very disappointed. I have given so much to the club over the years, especially last season."

"Now I'm sitting on the bench, and I don't know why. I feel like the club has thrown me into a fire. I think it's obvious that someone wants me to take all the blame."

“I received many promises this summer, but I’ve been on the bench for three consecutive games so far, and they clearly haven’t kept their word. I’ve repeatedly emphasized that I have a good relationship with the manager, but now we suddenly have no contact at all. I don’t know why. It seems to me that someone doesn’t want me to stay at the club.”

talkSPORT further points out that Salah's comments shocked Liverpool's management. The club's board believes that Sloot has full autonomy in tactical decisions, while the player should cooperate with the coaching staff's arrangements professionally.

If Salah ultimately chooses to leave, Saudi giants Al-Hilal or Al-Jeddah are the most likely destinations for him. A high-ranking official in the Saudi league told The Daily Telegraph that Salah will "undoubtedly" play in the Saudi league.
