The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame officially welcomed its 2025 class in Springfield, USA, with current Chicago Bulls head coach Billy Donovan being honored to be inducted.

Donovan joins former protégé Carmelo Anthony, former pursuit target Dwight Howard, and WNBA superstars Sue Bird, Maya Moore and Sylvia Fowles as members of this year's inductees.

Donovan has a 438-365 record as a coach in the NBA, with a winning percentage of .548. He led the Oklahoma City Thunder to five consecutive playoff appearances and currently coaches the Chicago Bulls, but has yet to reach the Finals. However, it was his stellar college career that truly cemented his Hall of Fame status.

From 1996 to 2015, Donovan coached at the University of Florida for 19 seasons, leading the team to a 467-186 record, four NCAA Final Four appearances, and consecutive championships in 2006 and 2007, which was the pinnacle of school history.

Including his two years at Marshall, Donovan's college record stands at 502-206. During that time, he coached 18 NBA players, including Joakim Noah, Al Horford, Bradley Beal, Jason Williams, and Mike Miller.

In 2007, Donovan briefly signed with the Orlando Magic, but soon changed his mind and returned to Florida to continue writing his legend on the college stage. It was not until 2015 that he actually entered the NBA.

Donovan acknowledges that his achievements wouldn't have been possible without the support of quality players and a dedicated team. Today, he's the league's only active Hall of Fame coach. While he hasn't yet won the Larry O'Brien Trophy, as Donovan put it, "I'm in the Hall of Fame because of the amazing people in my life."
