Nottingham Forest Football Club has confirmed that Dale Taylor has officially transferred to Blackpool Football Club on a permanent basis. Since joining the club from Linfield in Northern Ireland in 2018, Taylor has played for Nottingham Forest for many years, having also been loaned out to English Football League clubs such as Burton Albion, Wycombe Wanderers, and Wigan Athletic to gain experience.
Dale Taylor had an excellent season at Wigan Athletic, during which he scored 11 goals and provided 7 assists. With his outstanding performance, he won the club's Player of the Season award and the Fans' Player of the Season award.
In the final four months of the season, Dale Taylor won the club's Player of the Month award every month, further establishing his position as a key player in the team under Sean Maloney and his successor, Ryan Lowe.
The 21-year-old, who has eight caps for Northern Ireland, has returned to northwest England to join fellow League One club Blackpool. Under Steve Bruce, Blackpool narrowly avoided relegation via the play-offs in the 2024-25 season. This season, they aim to return to the Championship.
“We are genuinely delighted that Dale Taylor has been offered such a positive transfer opportunity,” said Craig Mulholland, Head of Football Development and Talent Management.
“His development at Nottingham Forest has been very successful, thanks to the hard work of Dale Taylor himself and all the excellent staff who have worked with him. This deal we have reached with Blackpool Football Club is not only of great significance to Dale Taylor and Blackpool, but also reflects the positive returns our club has received from years of investment in youth training and talent development.”
"We sincerely wish Dale Taylor all the best in his new endeavours and will continue to monitor his development and performances. The doors of City Ground are always open to him."
