Ahead of England's upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia, 33-year-old defender Dan Burn admits he is in the best phase of his career, his confidence is stronger than ever, and he is looking forward to being selected for the world championships for the first time.

Burn made his senior England debut at Wembley in a 2-0 win over Albania in March, just five days after scoring in Newcastle's 2-1 League Cup final victory over Liverpool.

Over the past six months, Burn has gradually established himself in Tuchel's England squad. Burn said: "In the first training camp, I was just excited to be on the field, but as I participated more and more, I became more and more confident that I could gain a foothold on this stage. I feel that I should be here and deserve this position."

Burn has been performing consistently well over the past year, not only winning the League Cup with Newcastle but also reaching the Champions League. He admits that these experiences have greatly boosted his confidence: "I feel like I'm getting better with age. Being able to play in the Champions League at 33 and having the opportunity to participate in the World Cup keeps me motivated."

Burn believes that regardless of the strength of the opponent, England's mentality remains the same: "I always tell myself to give my all and leave no regrets. Whether the opponent is Brazil, Argentina or Andorra, our attitude will not change."

The tall defender from Bryce has never been selected for an international competition. Now he hopes to achieve another breakthrough in his career with continuous improvement and stable performance.
