David Moyes was pleased with the result and believed the players performed very well.

Everton showed a more positive performance against Manchester United on Sunday night, steadily progressing their pre-season preparations. Manager David Moyes expressed his satisfaction with the team's form. In the final match of the Premier League summer series, Everton came from behind twice before ultimately drawing 2-2 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Elimane N'Diaye scored a brilliant first-half goal to equalise Bruno Fernandes' early penalty. Mason Mount put United ahead again in the second half, but Everton equalised late on thanks to an own goal.

David Moyes said: "Compared to the previous few games, I am more satisfied with tonight's performance because we really gained something from this game. The score is not the key. What is more important is that the team showed an encouraging performance. Frankly speaking, in the first two games, we may not have been well prepared in terms of player fitness management and playing time arrangements."

"But we know that tonight we played more like a real Everton team. In the previous games, our performances were a bit different from the image of Everton. So, obviously we are happier tonight."

Everton received some positive news with the return of James Tarkowski from injury. He was included in the starting lineup for the first time since his hamstring injury in April. Having come on as a substitute in the second half of the previous match, he started from the start against Ruben Amorim's side. David Moyes stated that the center-back couldn't wait to get going.

He said: "James Tarkowski was seriously injured. We knew he would not be able to play in the first two games. But in the second game, we let him play for 20 minutes, which is very good. I think he is in good physical condition and is very eager to return to the court. He trained very hard and recovered well. But when the doctor asked him to rest, we had to strictly abide by it."
