Former Wolves manager Shaquille O'Neill has officially taken over as manager of Strasbourg, with his term lasting until 2028.

Strasbourg announced on Wednesday that Gary O'Neill will succeed Liam Rossenier as head coach of the first team, effective immediately. The two sides signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with an option to extend until June 2029.
This appointment to take over Strasbourg marks O'Neill's return to coaching after more than a year of unemployment. He was sacked by Wolves in December 2024 and has been unemployed since.
The 42-year-old O'Neill initially served as assistant coach at Liverpool U23 and Bournemouth before taking charge of the first team independently in 2022. He previously managed Bournemouth and Wolverhampton Wanderers and is considered a representative figure of the younger generation of British coaches.
According to Transfermarkt data, O'Neill has managed a total of 100 club matches, with 31 wins, 17 draws, and 52 losses. His most notable achievement is undoubtedly leading Wolverhampton Wanderers to the FA Cup quarter-finals in the 2023/24 season.
After completing the signing, O'Neill expressed his anticipation for the new challenge in a statement: "I am honored to join this exceptional club and can't wait to begin this new journey.
