Galatasaray announced on its official website Thursday that it has officially bought the out ownership rights of on-loan Nigeria international center forward Victor Osimhen from Napoli.

According to Galatasaray's official statement, the club has triggered a €75 million release clause to buy out Osimhen, making him the most expensive player in Turkish football history. Napoli will also receive a 10% clause on the player's future transfer.

Osimhen has signed on a long-term four-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2029.

Notably, this transfer also effectively dispels any rumours which claimed that Osimhen will join Manchester United this summer.

About Victor Osimhen

Osimhen, 26, was born in Lagos, Nigeria on December 29, 1998. He is 1.85 meters tall and plays as a center forward.

Osimhen played for the youth academy of the Ultimate Strikers Academy, a local club in Lagos when he was young. After graduation, he officially joined Wolfsburg in January 2017 and completed his Wolfsburg first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in May of the same year.

In August of the following year, Osimhen was loaned to-out to Royal Charleroi, during which his high goalscoring efficiency prompted the club to decide to trigger his buyout clause.

In August 2019, Osimhen joined Lille for €12 million.

During his time with Les Dogues, Osimhen attracted the attention of many big clubs with his high goalscoring efficiency.

In July of the following year, Osimhen joined Napoli for €80 million, becoming the most expensive player in African football history.

During his four-year spell with I Partenopei, Osimhen played 133 times for Napoli in all competitions, scored 76 goals, assisted 18 times, won the Serie A once, and reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League with the club once.

After a complete bbreakdown in relationship with Napoli, Osimhen joined Galatasaray on-loan with an option to buy on the final day of last summer's transfer window.

Since becoming a member of Aslan, so far, Osimhen has made 41 appearances for Galatasaray in all competitions, scoring 37 goals and assisting 8 times, helping the team completes the Turkish Süper Lig and the Turkish Cup Double.
