Guardiola wants De Bruyne to win another title before leaving Manchester City

Manchester City will go to Wembley Stadium to compete with Crystal Palace for the FA Cup final in the 2024/25 season. Manchester City coach Guardiola said at a press conference that he hopes Belgian star De Bruyne can lift the Champions League again with the team before leaving Manchester City.

De Bruyne, 33, joined Manchester City at the end of August 2015, and in the past 10 years, he has won 6 Premier League titles, two FA Cup titles, 5 English League Cup titles and one Champions League title with Manchester City.

However, last month, De Bruyne announced through his personal social media that he would leave Manchester City, the Premier League giants he has played for for many years, after the end of this season. As Manchester City will participate in the FA Cup final, this has become De Bruyne's last chance to win the championship with the team.

Manchester City coach Guardiola said, "Of course De Bruyne wants to win this game for us and the team, and we also want to do this for him, but this requires real performance, action and commitment. This will be a wonderful thing. Although he has not been the captain for many years, he has lifted many trophies. He has won 19 championship trophies in 10 years at Manchester City, which is really great."

"He's played in a lot of big games and one season he was out for almost the whole year with injury but he's been a key player for us the rest of the time. It would be nice if he could lift one more trophy but he's won a lot already."

It is worth mentioning that when Manchester City played against Crystal Palace at home in the Premier League this season, they were two goals behind but thanks to goals from De Bruyne, Malmus, Kovacic, James McCarty and Nico O'Reilly, they eventually reversed the game and defeated Crystal Palace 5-2.

Guardiola pointed out, "I sent him into the game because I believe he can continue to perform as he did before. We were 0-2 behind against Crystal Palace, and he changed the situation with a free kick. We can't make choices just to please. I really believe the team needs him and he can help us."

"As for whether he will start, I am not sure at the moment. I have an idea in my mind, but we have to wait and see."

On the other hand, after the final against Crystal Palace, Manchester City will face Bournemouth in the focus match of the 37th round of the Premier League and continue to compete with other teams for a place in the Champions League.
