July 7 , the Miami Heat defeated the San Antonio Spurs 82-69 to get off to a good start in this summer league. The Heat gradually opened up the score and secured the victory with key performances in the fourth quarter.

The two sides played very closely in the first three quarters, with the score alternating several times, including 4 ties and 16 lead changes. It was not until the fourth quarter that the Heat played a wave of offensive with a score of 26 to 18 , maintaining their lead until the end, and finally winning by 13 points.

Defense became the key to the Heat's victory. The team showed a tough style on the defensive end, forcing the Spurs to make 17 turnovers while only making 10 turnovers themselves . In terms of rim protection, the Heat blocked 9 shots, 5 more than the Spurs .
