Jan Paul van Heyk, who currently plays for Brighton, believes that the players who joined last summer will bring more complete and stable seasons to English football. Although it is regrettable that they failed to secure a place in next season's European competitions, Jan Paul van Heyk firmly believes that the valuable experience accumulated this season will become the cornerstone of Brighton's future success.  

Brighton currently sits eighth in the Premier League, just four points behind the FA Cup qualification zone and five points behind the Champions League places.  

Jan Paul van Heyk admitted: "We are indeed a little disappointed. The team's goal has always been to fight for a place in the European arena, but obviously we have also experienced some difficulties and challenges this season. I think the team's games in the past few weeks have been very exciting. All the players have tried their best. This can be clearly seen from the performance on the field and the results of the game."  

Looking back at the last few weeks of the season, Jan Paul van Heyk believes that the team's performance is comparable to the top teams in the Premier League. He said: "At many stages this season, we have always emphasized that maintaining consistency is crucial if we want to compete for the top position in the league. I hope we can do better in this regard next season."  

“We ended up with a pretty positive result and the overall atmosphere was good. Although there are some disappointments, we can be proud of the team’s performance at the end of the season.”  

Jan Paul van Heyk also said that he believes that his teammates who join in 2024 will learn a lot from this season's experience in the Premier League, just like him. He said: "Many players in our team are playing in the Premier League for the first time, some are from other leagues, and some are very young and lack experience in the top league."  

"I know that my first season in the Premier League was difficult. But as time went on, the second season became much smoother. By the third season, I was more comfortable and at ease."  

"That's exactly what we'll see next season, with many of the young players continuing to improve. They've already shown their extraordinary quality this season and the future is exciting."
