Jean-Richard Bellegarde: We must continue to work hard and give our all to win for the team

Despite Wolves' recent pre-season friendly against Lens failing to win, Jean-Riccard Bellegarde remains confident the team is fully prepared for the upcoming Premier League season. Having come through the Lens youth academy before making his senior debut for the club, Bellegarde has enjoyed many memorable years at the club. Despite Wolves' defeat at Walsall, the midfielder was delighted to reunite with his former France teammates.

Jean-Richard Bellegarde said: "This means a lot to me. I still remember the good times I had playing there, so I was very happy to meet the manager and the team. I was happy when my teammates told me that being in the Premier League has made me stronger and that my skills and performances have improved significantly."

“I spent eight years at Lens and have accumulated many precious memories. It was a time that meant a lot to me. I remember many great moments at the club, so it was great to speak to the manager and the players again. But now I’m really excited to be here and start this new journey.”

Speaking about the pre-season defeat to Lens, Jean-Richard Bellegarde said: "Although the result was not ideal, I was eager to win. We need to win the next game and score more goals to boost the team's confidence."

“If we don’t win in pre-season, I hope to win against Manchester City so that I can earn my place in the match. Although I didn’t win the match, I noticed that the players’ leg strength and physical fitness have improved significantly. We will continue to work hard to be fully prepared for the match against Manchester City.”

"My teammates here are all very good, but we still need more time to get used to each other and enjoy each other off the field. Only by building a good team relationship off the field can the coordination and tacit understanding on the field be improved. I remember that the start of the season last year was particularly difficult, so now if we want to get off to a good start, we must give our all."
