John McGinn says Aston Villa must be at their best to face Everton at Villa Park in the Premier League. The Aston Villa captain and his teammates are aiming for their 12th consecutive home win, a streak that has continued since last September. Given that the two teams drew 0-0 earlier this season, McGinn anticipates a challenging match.  

The captain said: "This will be a tough match. Everton currently has a number of injury problems, and some players are away participating in the Africa Cup of Nations. However, we were lucky to get a point when we played them away before, so we will not take this match lightly."  

“Because I’m from Scotland, I’m quite familiar with their head coach and coaching staff. I also know Jack Grealish, Tim Irogoblin, and some other players in their squad. So there are no easy games in this league. We have to give our best performance again, try to continue our winning streak, and keep improving our league ranking.”  

The home team secured a winning start to the FA Cup campaign last weekend, defeating Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in North London. This weekend, they return to the B6. This victory also means Aston Villa will face the challenge of competing in three competitions simultaneously in the second half of the season.  

John McGinn said: "We are in a very good position domestically, and no one can predict how far we will go in the end. In Europe, we are in a favorable position to advance, with two games left, as well as the FA Cup. The next few months are exciting, but we must keep our feet on the ground, take it one step at a time, and stick to the way we have always done."
