Aston Villa captain John McGinn has expressed his disappointment after losing to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup semi-final.  

Eberechi Eze opened the scoring for Palace with a 20- yard shot and put them ahead at half-time, but Villa dominated the second half, with Jean-Philippe Mateta's penalty hitting the post and John McGinn's shot saved by goalkeeper Dean Henderson.  

In the end, Aston Villa lost to Crystal Palace with a score of 0-3. This defeat brought Aston Villa's FA Cup journey to a painful end, but their attention is now completely turned to the effort to compete for the top five in the Premier League.  

After the game, John McGinn said: "We are very disappointed with the result. This game is of great significance to both clubs, and the victory or defeat will directly affect the direction of their season. For us, the pursuit of success and trophies is very important. The club has not experienced these highlights for a long time."  

"But the coach doesn't need to yell at us, and we as players shouldn't get too emotional. We know this loss is disappointing and a huge blow, but we will get out of this disappointment and improve ourselves and become stronger next season."  

"The next four games are crucial for us and we will do our best to win the European Championship again and return to the Champions League. Disappointment is definitely there, but we can't be depressed for long. As players, we understand the disappointment of all fans because we feel the same."
