Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall: I will do my best to do better in the future

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall made his Everton debut against Roma, the first full crowd at the new stadium. He described playing at the Hill Dickinson Stadium as an "incredible experience" and said he hoped to repay the fans' enthusiastic support through his performance.

Mathias Soulé scored the only goal of the game in the 70th minute as David Moyes' side lost 0-1 in their final pre-season friendly.

Reflecting on a momentous day for both himself and the club, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall told Everton TV: “It was a fantastic experience for me to make my debut here. The stadium was packed, the atmosphere was fantastic and the game started really well.”

"Obviously, the result wasn't the key focus of this match. What was more important was that the players got valuable playing time. Winning and losing would naturally follow, but what I will never forget is the touching scene of the fans chanting my name and my team's name at the start of the match."

The midfielder signed a five-year contract with Everton earlier this week and, despite showing a strong performance in his debut game for the club, he said he would do even better in the future.

He added: "Since I arrived here, I have received many warm welcomes, which means a lot to me and my family. I am deeply moved by the support of the fans, and now I hope to repay their trust with my performance. Today you may have seen some of my ability, but this is just the beginning. I will bring more wonderful things in the future."

"I'm in very good physical condition now. This is my first appearance for any team this season and I feel very strong. I'm very satisfied that I was able to complete 60 minutes. I feel very good now."

Everton will face Leeds United in their first game of the new Premier League season on August 19th. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall said: "This is the real starting point for us, and we'll see what we can achieve. We have a full week to prepare for the new season. I'm very much looking forward to it, and the boys are also quietly preparing for the new season. Let's wait and see."
