Lewis Cook was proud of Bournemouth's performance against league leaders Arsenal, but stressed the team must maintain their peak form throughout the entire 90 minutes. Bournemouth suffered a narrow 2-3 defeat to the Gunners at the Vitality Stadium, with Cook coming on as a substitute in the final 16 minutes.
Declan Rice scored twice to help Mikel Arteta's team secure another victory, and Gabriel's first-half goal sealed a 2-0 win. Earlier, Evanilson opened the scoring for Bournemouth, while Kruppi's goal only salvaged some pride for the team.
Reflecting on the loss after the game, Lewis Cook said, "I think we played very well for most of the game. The team fought hard and remained competitive throughout. Unfortunately, we couldn't break the deadlock and ultimately failed to get any points."
"Facing a top team at the top of the league, we knew we needed to play our best for 90 minutes to secure three points, or even just one. They are well-trained and have a strong ability to seize opportunities. I believe that when we play our best, we can compete with a team like that. Today's game proved that, but there is still room for improvement."
Despite Bournemouth's 11-game winless streak in the league, Lewis Cook remains optimistic. He said: "Although we haven't won recently, we've still gained some points and shown some positive performances in a tough run of games. We need to reflect on the games, learn from the experience, and apply those positives to every game from now on."
