Liverpool lost the first leg of their Champions League tie, and Hrafinberg vowed to turn things around at Anfield.

In the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16, Liverpool suffered a disappointing 0-1 defeat away to Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray.

After the match, Liverpool midfielder Ryan Herafinberg admitted in an interview that the team's performance was indeed not good enough, but he firmly believed that under the leadership of manager Arne Sloot, the team was fully capable of turning things around when they returned to Anfield.

Just seven minutes into the game, Mario Lemina scored the home team's only goal of the match. Although Liverpool pressed forward aggressively and created numerous scoring opportunities, they failed to convert them into goals. A second-half equalizer was disallowed after a VAR review, and Liverpool ultimately suffered a defeat.

Reflecting on the defeat, Hrafenbech could not hide his disappointment, but he also regretted missing good opportunities in the early stages: "Coming here is bound to be a tough game, but if you play like we did today, it's obviously not enough."

“Sometimes we feel unlucky on the pitch. Especially in the first 5 to 10 minutes, if we can score one or two goals first, it will be a completely different game. But in the end we don’t play well, and we know that ourselves.”

Conceding an early goal in a hostile away game put Liverpool on the back foot for most of the match. However, facing the crucial second leg, Hrafinbergh remained confident. He emphasized that home advantage would be key to a comeback: "It's really difficult to fall behind in this kind of away atmosphere."

"But we know this is only the first leg, and next week we will be playing at Anfield. We have an excellent squad, and with the support of our home fans, we are absolutely confident that we can turn the tide."
