On October 17th , the NBA preseason continued, with the Orlando Magic defeating the New Orleans Pelicans 132-125. Banchero contributed 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists, while Wagner scored 24 points efficiently, leading the team to a home victory.

In the first quarter, the Magic were in hot form. Wagner had an excellent touch and scored 13 points in a single quarter, helping the team launch a wave of offense to quickly widen the score and lead 38-21 .

In the second quarter, the Pelicans stepped up their counterattack. Poole scored 14 points in a single quarter , leading the team to narrow the gap to 7 points. At the end of the half, the Magic still led 61-54 .

At the start of the third quarter, the Magic once again pushed the lead to 15 points, but the Pelicans were not to be outdone, and with consecutive scores from Williamson and Hawkins, they took the lead. At the end of the quarter, the Magic regained their lead and ended the third quarter with a 92-89 lead.

In the final quarter, the Magic, led by Bankello and Wagner, regained control of the game, going on a 13-2 run to establish their advantage. Ultimately, the Magic defeated the Pelicans 132-125 , securing their preseason victory.
