Mainz 05 released a statement on Friday, announcing that it has completed the contract extension with Stefan Bell. The new contract will extend the original agreement by one year and will be valid until June 30, 2026.
Stefan Bell, 33, was born in Andernach, Germany, and plays as a central defender. He joined the Mainz youth training system at the age of 15 and made his Bundesliga debut against Hannover Burg on December 1, 2012.
So far, Bale has played 307 times for Mainz 05, scoring 13 goals and providing 12 assists. He has also played on loan for Munich 1860 and Frankfurt, playing in 24 Bundesliga games, 8 Bundesliga games and 1 German Cup.
Regarding the decision to renew Bell's contract, Mainz 05 sports director Nico Bongert explained: "Stefan Bell is one of the club's iconic figures, especially in the last few years of his career, which to some extent interprets the core spirit of Mainz 05 - never give up."
"Stefan is not only a great person, but also a respectable and meritorious player. This season, he has once again proved his competitive value. We are very happy that he can stay with us for another year."
