The Athletic's resident renowned English Manchester United team correspondent Andy Mitten, exclusively reported on Friday that Manchester United and Derby County have reached an agreement on the transfer of England U17s international goalkeeper Charlie Hardy.
According to Mitten's report, Hardy could theoretically already join Manchester United and play for their U18s team. However, because it is currently outside the transfer window and he is still under the age of 17, the Red Devils must wait until Hardy turns 17 in July next year before signing him to a professional contract.
This situation is similar to the situation when rivals Liverpool poached Hardy's international teammate, striker Rio Ngumoha, from Chelsea last year.
