Sevilla head coach Matías Almeida attended a press conference before the match against Barcelona on Sunday, the eighth round of the La Liga season.  

At the pre-match press conference, the Argentine head coach began by saying: "This week, like every other, the team is full of passion and desire. It would be ideal to continue the momentum after the victory. Now, our focus is on this strong opponent. We still have one last training session to test the team's preparation."  

"We still have three points to fight for and we won't give up easily. We respect all our opponents, understand their strengths and have done comprehensive research so we can use our strengths to face them. We have excellent players and enthusiastic fans and hope to achieve an ideal result."  

"I'm not speaking out of posturing, but I hope to maintain a consistent attitude and face up to the real gap between the two sides. A football match is ultimately 11 vs. 11. Although it's difficult, it's by no means impossible. Even if the opponent has the strength to win the Champions League, we will still go all out to achieve the goal that has eluded us before. Our direction is to make ourselves stronger and more tenacious, and to remain competitive while correcting our mistakes."  

"Although we have achieved some positive results, two consecutive games have indeed put the team under considerable pressure. In addition to wins and losses, we need points, so improving our performance is also crucial, and this depends largely on the opponent.
