After leaving Real Madrid, where he played for many years, the 39-year-old Modric signed a one-year contract with Serie A giants AC Milan earlier. The legendary player said that he hopes to continue to participate in highly competitive games in Europe and compete against the best teams.

During his 13 years at Real Madrid, Modric played 597 games for the team and contributed 43 goals. He also helped the team win 4 La Liga titles, 6 Champions League titles, 5 Spanish Super Cup titles and 5 European Super Cup titles, and won the Ballon d'Or in 2018.

Modric said, "I want to stay in Europe and continue to participate in high-level competitions. I received other offers, but when AC Milan called me, I had made up my mind, and I wanted to come here from the beginning."
