Wolfsburg officially announced on Wednesday that it has loaned 25-year-old Danish midfielder Jesper Lindstrom from Naples. Lindstrom will play for Wolfsburg until June 2026, and the contract includes a buyout clause worth 12 million euros.

Lindstrom started his professional career from Brondby in 2018 and moved to Frankfurt for 7 million euros in 2021. He played for Frankfurt for two years, created 28 goals in 80 games in all lines, and won the 2021/22 Europa League with the team.

In August 2023, Lindstrom joined Napoli for 30 million euros. However, his performance in Napoli was sluggish, and he still failed to rebound after being loaned to Everton in the 2024/25 season.

According to data from Transfermarkt, Lindstrom played 29 times for Napoli, without scoring a goal or providing an assist. He also played 29 times for Everton, but only provided one assist.

Despite this, Wolfsburg still has confidence in Lindstrom. "Jesper has experience in both the Bundesliga and international competitions," said Wolfsburg sporting director Sebastian Schentzilotz. "He is a dynamic all-round player who can play in almost all positions in midfield. We are very happy that he has become part of our squad and will prepare for the new season with the whole team."

According to the official statement, Lindstrom will wear the No. 19 jersey at Wolfsburg.
